During my recent trip to the Supermarket, bags and bags of fun sized, mini-bars and combo packs of Halloween candy greeted me.  The do-it-yourselfer in me wondered would it be possible to skip all the added artificial ingredients and fillers. Could I make candy bars at home?

The geniuses at Chowhound to the rescue. They have successfully deconstructed four of the most popular candy bars, Snickers, Almond Joy, Twix, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, and made the most delicious sounding recipes for those who wish to try their hand at confectionary. One warning: these are not simple stir and make recipes. If you have demonstrated some culinary skills prior to this, you may be more adept at making these than a novice.

But even if they don’t turn out 100 percent perfect, the good news is that you can always console yourself by eating your mistakes.
