A long loaf of french bread is a welcome addition to many a meal. Baguettes go well with a hearty soup, stew or chili. The next morning, you may find the previous nights side dish has turned hard as a steel spike, no matter how tightly you’ve wrapped it in Saran Wrap. Here’s an idea what to do when you have baguette still left in the bag.

Many family-style restaurants feature Silver Dollar Pancakes on the menu. You can make Silver Dollar French Toast at home.  Slice the loaf into 3/4″ cuts. Dip the bread slices in egg wash. Grill evenly on both sides and serve with confectioners sugar and syrup.

Yesterday’s french bread loaf becomes today’s Silver Dollar French Toast.
